only the easy access to the beach, restaurants, mini stores, friendliness of the staff and boardwalk
I went a $130 over my budget because of all the hidden fees like the cost of internet access, the charges for using the phone in the room, no air condition/hot in stuffy in the hotel room/ just miserable wth sweat, no locks on any of the windows/felt very unsafe, no microwave, the sidewalk/street in front of hotel filthy and all the homelesss people laying on the sidewalk around the hotel! NOT A GREAT PLACE TO TAKE CHILDREN ON VACATION!!

Nothing at all it was disgusting
It was the worst place ever! They checked us in to a smaller budget room when we payed for an upgrade, the bathroom stank and the room was tiny. There were Homeless Bums outside our room everywhere and kept us up until 2 am. Arguing with each other. The tv reception was fuzzy. The fridge was so small you would be lucky to fit 2 bottles of water in there. The place was a dump. There is no way I could ever recommend this so called Hotel which resembled a backpackers. We woke in the morning to immediately check out thankfully.....THE Caddilac hotel sux

I liked the close location to the beach. It was good and clean, I enjoed my stay there. There are few attractions in the area, if you are looking for that, better to stay in Santa Monica. But you can reach it on foot going along the beach in 20-30 min, and it is a pleasant walking along the ocean coast.
I did not like the local people around, there are too many drug-dependent looking people around, poor desparate people, and I was cautious to go outside late. You should alos be carefull with your money there, bags and expensive things.

Close to the beach and the venice beach markets.
The hotel is very close to the beach but with that comes a lot of noise, the walls are thin and you can here noise all night. In general I thought the hotel was very expensive for not a great hotel. It felt airless and was fairly smelly, chemical cleaners and residents smoking.

Common areas of the hotel were dirty and not well maintained. Also parking was not easily obtainable.

Perfect hotel for the Venice Beach- feeling! Right in the middle of where things are going on. The view from the rooftop is amazing. The hotel is worth its money. The rooms arent very special, but clean and comfortable. I would recommend this hotel to young travelers who want to get in touch with the very special atmosphere at Venice Beach.
It hasn't got a very good parking possibility. It doesnt give you the feeling of having a save place for your car.
